Johrei
Johrei is a Japanese therapy started in the early 20th
century. Described as more of a way of life than a therapy, Johrei
aims to eliminate toxins from the body through touch, and promotes
a more natural way of living.
A treatment lasts between 60 and
90 minutes, and is conducted with the client fully clothed
and sat on the floor or a futon. The therapist will ask questions about
physical and mental health, he or she will then hold their
hands over your body to channel healing energy, areas of toxic build
up are found using gentle pressure and then channeled to the
kidneys, which flush out any toxins. Practitioners claim that Johrei
boosts the body's immune system by eliminating toxins and encouraging
the body to heal itself. The treatment is also beneficial for
stress related conditions, allergies and chronic pain.
Clients are
encouraged to devote time to their health requirements, and initially
2 or 3 treatments a week may be recommended. Johrei is given on a
one-to-one basis by a qualified therapist, although workshops are available
to encourage people to study the method and use it on family
and friends.
